Jumping castle

For some reason in Arizona those big inflatable jumping castles are all the rage.  Maybe it's like that all over the country and I never noticed until I became a parent, but now it seems like you can't escape them.  They had a bunch set up at the pro baseball field, Brie's school has had a few events that featured a jumping castle, and now we're starting to see them more at kid's birthday parties.  Griffin loves them of course, he's the perfect age.  Here are a few pictures from one of his friends 4th birthday party.  The boy he's wrestling with is a good buddy of his from pre-school.

Botanical Gardens

The Tucson Botanical Gardens has an annual holiday event with lighted pathways, live music, spiced cider, tamales, chili, and Santa with no lines.  Griffin was very excited.  He ran up to Santa, said "I remember you from last year!  Are you going to give me a candy cane again?"  It was very cute.  Here are some pictures from the evening.

Black Friday hike

While most other people are busy shopping the day after Thanksgiving we took a hike.  These are all pictures from that day, except the first which is Matilda in a basket

Group Shot

We went on a short hike a few weeks ago.  Here is a picture of Cole, Natty, Mariah, Griffin, Brie, (Matilda in backpack) Robin, Dave, Kate, Bob, and Cody the dog.  This is a view from "A" Mountain looking out over downtown Tucson

Galaxy Far Far Away....

This was kind of random.  We went to the zoo and they had all kinds of character stands set up,  not just Star Wars, but Disney, Dr. Suess, Harry Potter, and tons others.  It was pretty cool, Griffin actually noticed these first, he said "Look! It's Yoda!" and then went up and grabbed his ears.

Halloween

Here is Griffin preparing his pumpkins for Halloween, we got four small pumpkins because we thought they would take a lot longer to rot out once they were carved, but of course they started withering almost immediately

This is the costume Griffin ended up with, just the knight regalia with his Halloween pajamas underneath, it was very warm this evening so there was no need to bundle.  Below is Matilda's outfit:

We started in our neighborhood, but it was kind of quiet and low-key, so we had a quick dinner and then drove over to the Sam Hughes area.  This is where a lot of the houses go all-out with decorations and kids come from all over to visit.  It's a great atmosphere, lots of fun.

Griffin had a hard time not eating all the candy as it was being acquired, we still have some left in fact.  He was tired when it was all said and done, and I had to get up early and head to Tempe the next morning, and Brie went to a family party later that evening so it was a tiring weekend, but a whole lot of fun.
