Her foot smelled like a dirty sock when the cast came off.

Camping

Last weekend we went camping with some other families in the Catalina mountains.  This was our first time using the new "car camping" tent.  I guess a tent for car camping means one big enough to park the car inside:

Griffin and his friend Jude, they never left each others side the whole weekend

Matilda is always a big hit with the kids

Sedona

We stopped by Sedona on our way back to Tucson to visit Brie's grandmother.  The only pictures I took were of us walking around a stream down behind her house.  No shots of the typical red rocks that are associated with Sedona.  Sorry.

Flagstaff

So we went up to Flagstaff to visit our friend Kate for the 4th of July weekend.  we figured since we were out of our house anyway we might as well get away from the Tucson heat for a bit.  Matilda was great, she's adapted to her cast wonderfully.  Griffin was still a little under the weather, he was on antibiotics for strep throat, but at least he wasn't feverish any more.  We started the day with the stupid parade:

They had a craft fair in the park and the organizers were nice enough to include some jumping castles

We also did the firework thing like a bunch of tourists.

I have to say:  I really like Flagstaff a lot better than Tucson.  The downtown is really happening and fun to be in.  There's more of an emphasis on outdoor sports with multiple gear stores that rival even Burlingham.  The weather is great!!  Seasons!!  The mornings were crisp and cool, and the afternoons were not stifling like Tucson.  Damn, Tucson in the summer is like hell.  Nobody should endure heat like that.  it's unnatural.  Someday perhaps we will live there....  Jobs are scarce, houses are expensive, but we'll see.
